Breaking out a sweat

Yes, that was me today and not just once but multiple times. I was THAT lady today that you look at and wonder, "What the heck is she thinking having a newborn and toddler out in public." Everywhere we went today I either had a 2-year old acting out or a newborn screaming.. and if I was real lucky, I had both at the same time. It was quite the day.

We started out by going to my OB appointment. I know, what was I thinking, right? But, I just don't really have a lot of options for sitters during a weekday and I'm just the type of mom who goes with it and hopes for the best. It wasn't the worst it could have been. My 2-year old did pretty well, but my newborn screamed through the entire office. He did not want anything to do with his carrier. I nursed him and nothing worked.. as soon as I put him in it, he was ticked. Pretty much everywhere we went today, he screamed until I took him out of the carrier and once he was out of the carrier, then my 2-year old would make sure to find some mischief to get into. Let's just say it wasn't warm outside and I was sweating through my shirt trying to get home, but we made it and now I can laugh about it and pray it doesn't happen again next time we're out!

Out of all ends!

Yesterday was by far one of those perfect examples of situations you get in as a mommy that aren't the least bit fun at the time, but after the fact they are pretty darn funny. Justin had just woken up from his nap and Katelynn and I went to change his diaper. Katelynn pulled off the diaper and I of course, there started the pee flying. I quickly tried to block it and most of the pee ended up on the front of the poopy diaper we were trying to change. In an effort to hurry and get the diaper out from under him before the pee sitting on top rolls onto my carpet, I pull the diaper out and am worrying about that when Justin starts pooping again all over his clothes and my carpet. It's all over so much so that I have to get his clothes off before I can even get a new diaper on. I put him on my leg to pull the clothes off and he spits up. So now I have stuff coming out of every end!! I'm wiping his mouth when he AGAIN poops. This time lucky me- it's on me AND it manages to get on my carpet. It wasn't so fun at the time, but I can't help but laugh at it now. The best part was Katelynn's face watching it all happen. She was in disbelief!

Are you ready for this?

So with my traveling husband, I find myself sitting at home at night reflecting about all the things I have endured throughout the day. Some of them are not so fun at the time, but when I stop and think back I can't help but laughing.. some of them I NEVER laugh at.. and then there's all the sweet moments that make being a stay-at-home mom be the best job I could ever have. We'll see how often I really blog on here, but I thought this would be a fun place to sit back and clear my head from time to time. Hope you enjoy!
